One of the unique services offered at Thousand Oaks Family Dentistry is our sleep apnea screening and treatment. If you have been told you snore or have the symptoms of apnea, we can provide you with a take home sleep test that will give us a snapshot of your sleep habits. Using this information, we can judge the quality and duration of your nightly rest.
If Dr. Kari Ann Hong determines you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), we can provide treatment as well. Using a series of measurements and computer algorithms, we can manufacture a custom sleep appliance to shift your lower jaw and create a more open airway. This addresses a condition known as soft tissue collapse, the cause of OSA. Unfortunately, we do not prescribe or issue CPAP or other sleep apnea machines. These more severe types of apnea are best serviced and monitored by a sleep specialist.
